The barrier materials we use at SFX are of the highest quality and are exclusively supplied by the world-renowned company, Kemmetech.
The results of wholly independent tests have proven to be highly impressive. X-ray protection garments made from material produced via Kemmetech’s unique method of production are safer, lighter and much more comfortable for wearers.
The UK’s National Physical Laboratory’s extensive tests for attenuation and lead equivalence confirmed that against 50-120kV using broad beam geometry, Edge Bilayer met all of the major standards including IEC 61331-1: 2014 plus DIN 6857-1.

We offer our core barrier material in the following variations:
- Lead – Standard Lead, heaviest material, cost effective solution.
- Low lead bilayer – combination of Antimony and Lead, intermediate weight and cost.
- Lead-free bilayer – Combination of Antimony and Bismuth, Premium Lightest material.
